Hot Air Ballooning - Canberra Weekend

Flying in a Hot Air Balloon is the ideal way to really see Canberra’s unique city design. Taking off at dawn you will rise above Canberra’s suburbs and parklands as the view slowly unfolds beneath you.  Experience the peace and tranquility of lighter than air flight over one of the world’s most beautiful cities. You will meet your pilot shortly before dawn.  Meeting time is from 5.00am to 6.30am depending on the time of year. The meeting time for your flight will be advised in your booking confirmation. At the meeting point you will have the opportunity to enjoy a tea or coffee before the flight discuss the morning weather and meet the other passengers. The take-off site for the morning flight depends on the direction and speed of the upper winds. Your pilot will decide which is the best area to take off from after considering the conditions. Participants are transported from the meeting point to the launch site in a 4WD troop carrier. Your flight will be for approximately one hour but the morning will take three to four hours to complete from the time you meet until the time your adventure finishes. Participants are welcome to assist the crew on the morning with setting up and packing away the balloon – it’s part of the fun of ballooning. The morning concludes with a celebration of your adventure back at the meeting point with a flight certificate presentation and a glass of champagne or fruit juice. Full buffet breakfast is also available at an additional cost of $22 per person and needs to be arranged prior to the flight.
