Canyoning Claustral Canyon Intermediate - Blue Mountains

WET CANYONS OPERATE FROM OCTOBER - APRIL ALTHOUGH DRY CANYONS ARE OFFERED ALL YEAR ROUND. Claustral is a classic Blue Mountains Canyon – narrow dark and cool with amazing fern and moss displays. The canyon narrows in parts and waterfalls cascade down constricted passages adding to the thrill and skill of abseiling deeper into this adventure world. You will negotiate three small tricky abseils during this Indiana Jones style challenge. You will start the day wearing your hiking gear. We walk for 1-hour before reaching the change point where we don wetsuits helmets and harnesses and ‘dry-bag’ our clothes and lunch. From here on in you can expect to get completely wet! Yahoo off awesome water jumps into clear green rock pools. Swim leisurely through fresh water rivers teeming with unique plant and animal life. Appreciate spectacular rock formations colourful plants freshwater fish and multi-coloured yabbies found only in their native canyon environment. A delicious lunch is served on the waters edge giving you the opportunity to relax and soak up a few rays of sunshine. Be sure to build up those sugar levels for the steep but rewarding 2.5 hour hike up the ridge back to the car park and your warm clean clothes!
