Canyoning Grand Canyon Introductory - Blue Mountains

Location:
Blue-Mountains - NSW
WET CANYONS OPERATE FROM OCTOBER - APRIL ALTHOUGH DRY CANYONS ARE OFFERED ALL YEAR ROUND. Grand Canyon is an ideal introductory canyon that combines an abseiling course and a canyon into one full day adventure. It's ideal for beginners - teaching you the necessary skills of abseiling and canyoning as well as being an adventure in itself. The first part of your day is focused on abseiling at North Boyce and is designed to teach skills to those who have never scaled down rock walls before. Under the instruction of professional guides your confidence will grow on the smaller drops leaving you eager for the upcoming challenges of drops up to 25 metres. If you have previously abseiled this session will serve as a great re-run on equipment calls and body position. After a morning of abseiling you will be looking forward to lunch. We perch on one of the spectacular Blue Mountains lookouts and take some time out to devour lunch and refuel for the afternoon's adventure. The afternoon trip through the Grand Canyon is the highlight of the day. The fun starts with an overhanging abseil followed by swimming scrambling and wading. The beauty and serenity of this canyon will surprise you with ferny glades and towering rock walls providing a spectacular setting. The Grand Canyon is longer than Empress Falls canyon with more swimming. The walkout takes about 35 minutes through temperate rainforest finishing at Evans Lookout with a spectacular view of the Grose Valley. This is a fun scenic Canyon that offers you the chance to appreciate the wonderful scenery of the Blue Mountains and is the perfect introduction to Canyoning. The duration of the canyon is approximately 9 hours.
