You can hear the sounds of the awakening world below as you witness the sunrise over the Hunter Valley vineyards showering the landscape with golden light. The uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountain ranges and farmlands nestled in between are absolutely breathtaking. Time seems to stand still as you are transported on an aerial nature walk…this is the unique sensation of ballooning. Unlike any other form of flight passengers are welcome to assist the pilot and crew inflate the balloon at the launch site. It only takes 20 minutes to inflate the balloon and once upright the pilot will invite you onboard and ensure that you are familiar with your landing position. Whilst sailing the skies your job is simple relax and enjoy the 360 degree aerial views. The pilot will point out places of interest whilst explaining the art of flying a hot air balloon. The way the pilot utilises the different winds to steer the balloon to its destination is always interesting to watch. You are free to ask as many questions as you want. If the pilot and crew do not know the correct answer they will happily make something up! Start and finish times will vary depending on the season and the weather but be prepared for a very early morning as we meet an hour before sunrise. After all we are chasing first light! Your exact meeting time will be confirmed over the phone the night before your flight during your compulsory weather check. Upon landing about 20 minutes will be spent packing the equipment away. This sounds like a tedious exercise but after many years of doing this your pilot has developed creative methods to make it good fun! At the completion of your flight your senses will be alerted to the soundless beauty of ballooning.
