V8 Supercar Ford Versus Holden Race Day - Ford Ride - Sydney

Location:
Sydney - NSW
If you're a Ford fan and you've been holding back well.. wait no more. The ex-Jones Komatsu Ford Falcon EL car has been fully freshened-up with a big horsepower motor and made its debut for hot laps on July 30th 2004. The V8 Supercar hotlaps experience has come about as a result of repeated requests from the public to feel for themselves the exhilaration of the raw V8 horsepower they watch on television or at the track. The noise the acceleration the braking the grip on cornering is something that can only be fully appreciated from within the car. With an experienced V8 race car driver at the wheel and you secured in the passenger side race seat by an engineer designed 4-point harness you will be introduced to the world of motor racing. Until now riding in a V8 Supercar with an experienced race car driver has been reserved for corporate sponsors competition winners or race car crew only. Each session starts with a briefing in the pit lane introducing the technical specifications of the V8 Supercars and explaining the safety aspects pertaining to the ride and how the day will run. Up to four V8 Supercars will be on the track during each hot laps ride. Before your ride you get to try on the custom race overalls and helmets for size. Once you're suited up ready for your hot laps you will be photographed with the car. Another photograph is snapped when you're strapped in ready to go. With your photo session finished the engine is fired up. Feel the grunt as almost 600hp of acceleration suddenly kicks in! Once on the track the awesome braking and cornering of the V8 Supercar usually comes as huge surprise to most people as there is nothing in normal driving experience that can prepare you for the abilities of a purebred racecar. So.. you probably want to know... is the Falcon quicker than the Commodores? The answer is a definite... MAYBE... or MAYBE not. You'll just have to have a ride to find out!
