Abseiling Beginners Learn to Abseil Course - Brisbane

Introduce yourself to the vertical world! Abseiling provides an exciting adrenalin filled experience that is a base skill required for caving canyoning climbing mountaineering remote area bushwalking or just for fun. It is a great way to step outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself. On this experience your instructors will issue you with your gear set. This includes a harness carabineer and figure eight descender - all of which will be explained to you so that it doesn't sound so foreign. Safety procedures will then be explained before you rig up on the "nursery" slope. After a couple of descents on these beginner slopes you will be starting to feel familiar with the correct stance and descending techniques. Once you are confident with the height you can test your newfound skills on some more exciting and higher drops. Then you are free to complete as many descents on the main cliffs as you can fit into the session. By the end of the course you will be competent enough to tackle one of the abseiling field trips in the Glasshouse Mountains or find that you want to expand on your rocksports repertoire and try the introductory rockclimbing sessions.
