This international class of race car provides a real test of driver skill and will expose the natural ability of those considering motor racing. Formula Ford has been the stepping stone of most Formula One greats such as Ayrton Senna and Michael Schmacher. This will be your opportunity to experience the thrill of real motor racing from the drivers seat. The session begins with specialist training in race car handling, safety and driving techniques, followed by circuit laps, which increase in speed as you reach your peak. By the end of the day, you will have reached top speeds, driven a full spec race car and received untouchable driving training from a team of motor sport industry insiders. Reality will not fall short of expectation. Drivers meet at the race track at 8am (morning session) or 11:30am (afternoon session) for the Introductory Sessions. All drivers are fitted with suits, boots and helmets and attend a compulsory driver briefing covering important aspects of safety and driving theory. Drivers proceed to the pit area where they go through car familiarisation exercises. Drivers are fitted in race cars and receive instruction in techniques that make operating the car safe and give the driver maximum confidence. Drivers are introduced to the race circuit from behind a pace car. The pace is gradually increased as each lap is completed. The final session sees drivers completing full speed laps around the track with no pace car. The program is closely observed and monitored at all times by U-Drive instructors as well as an independent Track Safety Officer.
