V8 Super Challenge Introductory - Adelaide

If you have always wanted the challenge of driving a real V8 VX 6-speed manual Commodore around a real V8 race track then this is just for you! Strap into the driver's seat of a V8 Super Challenge race car and tackle Adelaide International Raceway like a pro racer. The day begins with a briefing conducted by your experienced instructors for your day of motorsport on the race track. This will cover techniques on cornering apexes and exiting efficient braking and acceleration steering gear changes and general car control. Safety and track awareness will also be discussed. Feel free to ask questions so that you feel comfortable to get in the car and put theory into practice. Then an instructor takes you on observation laps to survey the track before you jump into the drivers seat. Following this your instructor buckles into the passenger seat watching you drive and giving you feedback and encouragement to ensure you learn the correct techniques and drive safely. The first “warm up lap” allows you to familiarise yourself with the car and track your confidence will grow and your skills will improve as you learn how to gain more control and speed. Then there will be no stopping you! Each driver completes one driving session of a ten minute duration. It is difficult to imagine the amount of concentration and intense focus required for a ten minute session. V8 racetrack driving does not even begin to compare to street driving! Just when you thought you were getting good enough to be signed with Mark Skaife next year your instructor will take the wheel and show you how many years of racing experience feels. This will be two hot laps you will be talking about for years. At the conclusion of your session all drivers are presented with a certificate and photograph autographed by your instructor.
