Aeroplane Training Flight Learn To Fly - Melbourne

The Pilot Experience is the perfect opportunity for someone contemplating getting their pilots licence to experience first hand what it’s like to pilot a light aircraft around the skies of Melbourne. Your experience begins with a 20 minute pre-flight briefing where all of the flight instruments and controls of the aircraft will be explained to you so that once you get into the cockpit you will have a basic understanding of what is happening around you. During this time you will also have the opportunity to ask any questions about the flight or the aircraft. Next it's onto the flight simulator where you will spend around 10 minutes flying an aircraft without actually leaving the ground well no more than 5 feet up anyway. The full motion simulator is accredited by CASA for professional pilot training. With the ground formalities out of the way it’s on to the pre-flight inspection of your aircraft. The pilot will spend around 5 to 10 minutes with you checking over all the basics such as fuel oil control surfaces tyres propeller etc. Now it’s time to strap yourself in start up and taxi down to the runway. Depending on the conditions on the day your instructor may actually let you take off if not he/she will hand over the controls to you and let you fly once the aircraft is airborne and underway. Your instructor will take over at various times to demonstrate different things to you but for the most part you will be flying the aircraft. Remember to glance at the scenery occasionally and take in the spectacular views of Melbourne's beautiful city skyline. The total aircraft time is 30 minutes. The total adventure is approximately one and a half hours.
