White Water Rafting Mitta Mitta River 2 Day - Omeo

The Mitta Mitta River is fed from the melting snow of Mt Hotham and Falls Creek. The river surges from the mountains of north eastern Victoria through magnificent Alpine Gorges to the picturesque Omeo Valley.  Rafting takes place from August through to late October when river levels are at their best. On this two day whitewater rafting trip you will be rafting 18kms of Grade 3 – 4 rapids. Hang on tight and experience the thrill of rapids with names like: The Graveyard Dislocation Grim Reaper The Roller Coaster and The Gobbler! On arrival at the put-in point you will be fitted with a buoyancy vest and helmet before your guide conducts a safety briefing and commences instruction in raft control and handling. After you have received your initial instruction get ready for a full-day of action packed rafting! There will be plenty of time to fine tune your rafting skills before tackling some of the bigger rapids. Lunch will be on the river bank half way through the day before pulling out at Anglers Rest to return to your accommodation near Omeo for a shower meal and relaxing evening. After breakfast in the hotel you will return to Anglers Rest and put your skills to the test on continuous rapids through the gorge to pull out at Black Duck at approximately 4pm to finish an adrenalin filled day. The remoteness and beauty of this area add to the memories of this experience as the narrow twisting river surges through spectacular rock formations within steep granite ravines.
